Wise Words
My father once told me,
“Be careful what you say,
All the words you speak aloud,
Will return another day.”
Then he told me clearly,
“Be careful what you do,
All your actions have a price,
And will come back haunting you.”
I never followed those wise words,
To me, they were not wise,
Nothing more than a coward’s speech,
Hidden in disguise,
I grew old, like all men do,
And raised my only son,
One day he asked for some wise words
Like I once had done,
So I said unto my boy,
“Believe in what you say,
All the words you speak aloud,
You’ll explain another day.”
Then I said to him,
“Love whatever you do,
All your actions have a price,
But love them through and through.”
