Fatal Conviction

Beyond the distance, midnight stirring,
For an instance, my heart burning,
Toil, pain, disturbed lights blurring,
Across the scope of sunken eyes,

Into darkness, my body yearning,
Bleak starkness, death returning,
Over shadows, twitching, churning,
Dancing to my near demise,

As I pray, my prayers start slurring,
Hollowed demons, skitting, scurry,
Across the floor of patterned fury,
Where my body dreams to lie,

I wait in apprehensive hurry,
Darting, skirting, roving, turning,
Searching for the taker’s earning,
Under even colder skies,

Through the tempest, darkness luring,
Heart and soul, twisting, swirling,
Writhing, shrieking, mindless hurting,
Cutting deeper in the plies,

Silence slitting, peace of curing,
Into wrists of endless squirting,
“Peace!” I cry, the pain enduring,
Peace ensues my piercing cries,

Slumped in eerie corners during,
Sounds of horror, frenzy, flurry,
Wishing morrow, hurry, hurry,
In my mind insanity pries,

Cut my life, my life unfurling,
Sanity rips, a bloody slurry,
Death, O’ Death, my judge, my jury,
Spare me from my futile tries,

Conjured spirits, dancing, swirring,
My death, my death, they are assuring,
In my presence, Hell’s adjourning,
Hell to surface, Hell to rise,

The gates of furnace, burning, burning,
Inferno rages, my soul transferring,
All my hate, my sins recurring,
All my faults and all my lies,

My darkest hour, flitting, skirting,
Dim to black, vision blurring,
Regret, anger, emotions stirring,
Destiny follows the Devil’s scries,

Pool of sanguine, reassuring,
Ever closer, still alluring,
Eternal rest, none returning,
Satan’s contract he’ll devise,

All my grasp, my strength deserting,
My mind, my soul, my heart subverting,
Into corpse, fading, converting,
I pray to God, but no reply,

Yet, I falter, breath spurring,
Shadows alter, upon learning,
Death appears, my world obscuring,
I wait, I sleep, I die.
